Join the Indiana Farmers' Network!

The Indiana Entrepreneurial Agriculture Directory is now the Indiana Farmers' Network. The Local Growers Guild assumed management of the network in 2009. Joining the network is free. Members can create profiles of their ag businesses, post comments or questions on various forums, and contact other members directly. To access the new Indiana Farmers' Network, click HERE.

The Indiana Entrepreneurial Agriculture Directory contains a listing of agriculture entrepreneurs and detailed case studies to educate rural farmers on the various agricultural innovations to enable farmers to learn from existing operations and to explore the feasibility of new ideas for their own operations. The original directory compiled by SIRDP is still searchable online. The Heartlands

If you reach into Southern Indiana and pluck out one family to represent all 39 counties, what would their lives be like? To find out, we created the Heartlands- an imaginary household- by blending statistical data on income, education, health, hobbies and other factors.

The Heartlands will be our benchmark family for tracking economic and community development in Southern Indiana; as the region prospers or falters over time, so will this family. You can visit them at www.theheartlands.us or by clicking here .

Economic Growth Region 8

A new regional model for rural development in Indiana’s Economic Growth Region 8 is one of two grant funded projects in the nation. The final product, Unlocking Rural Competitiveness: The Role of Regional Clusters, can be viewed online.
